Main Speaker

Pastor Gary Kendall

Gary is the founding pastor of Indian Creek Community Church (Church of God) in Olathe, KS. He now serves as the founder and catalyst of Love KC, a community organization that supports followers of Jesus to love God and to love their neighbor. As they like to say, “We help you lead your friends to Jesus.”

Workshop

Wednesday 4/26 at 10:30a - Children of Promise Training

In June of 1992, Children of Promise was established “…to be an extension of the local congregation in the village or city. It is designed to provide long-term relationship between the church members and the children and their families, rather than between an organization and a child. It is a holistic approach in the impact on a child’s life over an extended period of time.” Four core needs were identified as the focus of partnership: Christian nurture, nutrition, education, and medical care. Ministry partnerships began in six locations including the Philippines (Grace Family Helper Project), Egypt (Children of Hope), India (The Shelter), Brazil (Helping Hand), Haiti (The House of Blessings), and Lebanon (Cedar Home). Children of Promise is an independent non-profit organization, but became an affiliated agency with Church of God Ministries in 2014.

Workshop

Wednesday 4/26 at 1:00p - Pastor Michael Guzman: Empowering Missional Disciples

Before Jesus left, he gave simple and clear instructions for his disciples to “Go, and make disciples.” Now, over 2,000 years later, as we look at the landscape of the Church of God and of Christianity as a whole, we are often left scratching our heads, asking, “Are we doing what Jesus instructed?” We are leading people through our new believer classes, enrolling them in our small groups, and encouraging them to read the Bible for themselves, but are we really making disciples the way Jesus intended? This workshop will seek to develop a working definition for discipleship, lay out a simple (but hard) road map for discipling those in your congregation, provide a memorable toolkit for discipling others, and explore how to raise up empowered disciples with a Kingdom vision.

Michael lives in Bandon, Oregon and loves coaching pastors and leaders, calling out and developing their God-given skills. Preaching the Word of God and seeing others fall in love with the Bible rank among his favorite things in ministry. Michael has been serving Churches of God at the local and regional level for the last seventeen years, and has been a part of 3D Movements since 2010. As a 3DM coach, consultant and communicator, he has worked with numerous pastors and churches across the US and Canada from a variety of denominations through coaching huddles, weekend workshops, and immersive learning communities.
